Mobile, Alabama (BuzzReport)— Authorities are investigating a shooting that left a man injured Monday evening after police say an attempted armed robbery escalated into gunfire. On Monday, August 3, 2026, at approximately 6:49 p.m., officers with the Mobile Police Department responded to the area of Eoline Street following reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they located a male victim suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. The victim was provided medical assistance and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officials say his injuries are not considered life-threatening. During the initial investigation, detectives determined that the shooting did not occur on Eoline Street. Investigators learned the incident began a short time earlier while the victim was walking in the area of Seale Street. According to police, an unknown suspect approached the victim and attempted to rob him at gunpoint. During the confrontation, the victim reportedly displayed his own firearm. Police say the suspect then fired a shot, striking the victim, before fleeing the area. Investigators are continuing to gather evidence and information as they work to identify the person responsible.
