Man Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Into Multiple Trucks and Business at Mobile Trucking Company

MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 49-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police say he broke into several vehicles and a business while attempting to steal a commercial truck from a Mobile trucking company over the weekend.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to Hud Trucking, located at 5565 Carol Plantation Service Road, at approximately 3:17 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, following reports of an incident in progress.

When officers arrived, they found a male suspect on the property who had allegedly unlawfully entered two Freightliner commercial trucks. Investigators say the suspect attempted to steal one of the trucks but was unable to drive away because the vehicle’s braking system remained engaged, preventing it from being moved.

As officers continued their investigation, they discovered the suspect had also allegedly removed items from the interior of the second Freightliner truck. Police further determined that the suspect had entered the company’s office and taken additional property from inside the business.

The suspect was identified as David Dunn, 49. He was taken into custody at the scene without further incident and transported to Metro Jail, where he was booked on charges related to the alleged break-in and theft.

Authorities have not released the total value of the stolen property or indicated whether all of the items were recovered. No injuries were reported during the incident.

The case remains under investigation, and additional charges could be filed as detectives continue to review the evidence.
