Two Found Dead in Apparent Murder-Suicide on Mobile’s Devander Drive

MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport) — A late-night shooting in west Mobile has left two people dead in what investigators believe was an apparent murder-suicide, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Devander Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday following reports of gunfire in the neighborhood.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered an adult man and an adult woman dead outside a residence.

According to the Mobile Police Department’s preliminary investigation, the incident began when the male suspect allegedly shot a woman who was sitting inside a parked vehicle at the home. Investigators say the man then exited the area near the vehicle and took his own life.

Police indicated that the man and woman were known to one another, though investigators have not publicly disclosed the nature of their relationship.

The identities of both individuals are being withheld until next of kin have been notified.

Detectives continue to process evidence and determine the circumstances that led to the deadly encounter. At this time, authorities have not released any additional information regarding a possible motive.
