MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Mobile Police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a man early Monday morning at a West Mobile apartment complex.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Plantation Apartments, located at 5725 Old Pascagoula Road, at approximately 6:35 a.m. on June 22, 2026, after receiving reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound inside one of the apartment units. Authorities confirmed that the victim died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators immediately secured the area as homicide detectives began processing evidence and interviewing potential witnesses in an effort to determine what led to the fatal shooting.

At this time, police have not released details regarding a possible suspect, a motive, or the circumstances that preceded the gunfire. The identity of the victim is also being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Residents in the area reported a significant police presence at the apartment complex Monday morning as investigators worked to gather evidence and piece together the events surrounding the deadly incident.

The case remains an active and ongoing investigation, and authorities say no additional information is being released at this time.

The fatal shooting marks yet another homicide investigation for Mobile Police as detectives continue working to identify those responsible and bring answers to the victim’s family.
