MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport News) — A complaint involving alleged drug use around children led to the arrest of a 54-year-old man Wednesday evening after Mobile police reportedly discovered multiple controlled substances and a large amount of cash inside a residence. According to authorities, officers responded to the 100 block of Emogene Place on June 17, 2026, at approximately 5:45 p.m. after receiving a complaint regarding suspected drug activity in the area. Upon arrival, officers met with the complainant, who reported that a male subject was allegedly smoking marijuana in the presence of children. Officers subsequently made contact with the individual and detained him without incident while conducting an investigation. As officers continued their inquiry, they reportedly discovered multiple controlled substances inside the residence, along with a substantial sum of money. The exact type and quantity of the narcotics recovered have not yet been released by authorities. The suspect was identified as Thomas Yeend, 54. Following the investigation, Yeend was taken into custody and transported to Metro Jail, where he faces charges related to the alleged drug violations. Authorities have not indicated whether additional arrests are expected as a result of the investigation.
