BATON ROUGE, La. (BuzzReport) — A Baton Rouge man accused of raping an 94 year old elderly woman is back in court, this time facing allegations stemming from a separate sexual assault case dating back several years.

Jeremiah Taylor appeared in court Tuesday, September 1, where he entered a dual plea of not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity in connection with accusations involving a female victim.

According to the allegations, Taylor is accused of raping the woman three times beginning in 2023. The case is separate from the allegations involving an elderly woman that previously led to Taylor’s arrest.

Taylor’s insanity plea means his mental state will be an important issue as the case moves forward. A plea of not guilty by reason of insanity does not constitute an admission of guilt; rather, it places Taylor’s mental condition at the time of the alleged offenses at issue in the legal proceedings.

Taylor’s next scheduled court appearance is November 4. At that hearing, the case is expected to move forward as attorneys and the court address the outstanding legal issues surrounding the allegations and his dual plea.

The case remains under judicial proceedings in Baton Rouge.
