PRICHARD , Ala. (BuzzReport News) — A man is behind bars after deputies responded to reports of gunfire in a residential neighborhood and pursued a suspect who allegedly fled from law enforcement before being taken into custody following a physical struggle. According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the Eugene Avenue area on reports of shots being fired from a vehicle during the afternoon hours. The incident raised immediate concerns among residents, as gun violence continues to threaten the safety and peace of neighborhoods across Mobile County. After receiving a description of the suspect vehicle, a deputy located a vehicle matching that description and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Authorities say the driver refused to comply and instead fled, leading deputies on a brief pursuit through the area. Investigators identified the driver as Tyler Eric Coleman, 26. The pursuit came to an end when Coleman reportedly abandoned the vehicle and ran into a residence on Glendale Place in an apparent attempt to evade arrest. Deputies pursued him into the home, where authorities say a struggle ensued before Coleman was ultimately subdued and taken into custody. Following the arrest, investigators searched the suspect vehicle and reportedly recovered two pistols along with shell casings believed to be connected to the shots-fired incident. The discovery of firearms and spent casings is expected to play a significant role in the ongoing investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the gunfire and whether additional crimes may have been committed. Coleman was transported to the Mobile County Metro Jail, where he remains in custody on multiple charges. Law enforcement officials have indicated that additional charges could be forthcoming as investigators continue reviewing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and examining the recovered firearms. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with this incident. However, authorities emphasize that every shots-fired call carries the potential for tragedy and underscores the importance of swift law enforcement intervention. The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the case and is asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact investigators. As the investigation moves forward, officials remain focused on determining the full scope of the events that unfolded on Eugene Avenue and ensuring accountability for any criminal actions connected to the case. This is an ongoing investigation.
