MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport)— Mobile Police have identified the man who died following a traffic collision on Airport Boulevard over the weekend.

According to the Mobile Police Department, James Beck, 55, succumbed to injuries he sustained in a crash that occurred shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, near the intersection of Airport Boulevard and General Bullard Avenue.

Investigators said Beck was driving a pickup truck and attempting to exit a parking lot when his vehicle was struck by a black SUV traveling eastbound on Airport Boulevard. The impact of the collision caused significant damage and left Beck seriously injured.

Emergency responders transported Beck to a local hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the SUV remained at the scene, and no additional information regarding possible charges or contributing factors has been released at this time.

The Mobile Police Department’s Traffic Homicide Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not yet determined what factors may have led to the collision.
