Mobile Police Investigating Deadly Shooting in West Mobile; Victim Found Shot to Death in Roadway

MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Mobile Police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a man Monday evening, marking another homicide investigation for the department as detectives work to determine what led to the fatal violence.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 5:05 p.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, to the intersection of Gaylark Road North and Elmwood Drive following reports of a shooting.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a male victim lying in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. Authorities said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators have not yet released the identity of the deceased man. Police stated that his name will remain withheld until all next of kin have been properly notified.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and detectives have not disclosed whether any suspects have been identified or taken into custody. Officials have also not released information regarding a possible motive.

The homicide investigation comes as Mobile Police continue to investigate another shooting that occurred on Sunnyvale Lane West. Authorities confirmed that case also remains active and ongoing. At this time, no additional details regarding that incident have been released to the public.
