Domestic Dispute on Elaine Drive Leaves Man Hospitalized, Woman Arrested

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A domestic disturbance late Wednesday night in Mobile ended with one man hospitalized and a woman behind bars after police responded to a violent altercation on Elaine Drive.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Elaine Drive on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m. in reference to a domestic complaint.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located an adult male victim suffering from a severe head injury. Police said the injury was considered non-life-threatening, but serious enough to require immediate medical attention. Emergency responders transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

Investigators later determined that the incident stemmed from a verbal argument between the victim and the suspect that escalated into a physical confrontation.

Police detained the suspect at the scene without further incident.

Authorities identified the suspect as 38-year-old Ashley Handy. She was arrested and transported to Mobile County Metro Jail following the investigation.

At this time, officials have not released additional details regarding what led to the altercation or what specific charges Handy may face.
