Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A quiet evening walk turned into a frightening encounter when a man was robbed at gunpoint outside a West Mobile apartment complex, underscoring growing safety concerns in residential areas.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers were dispatched around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, to the The Crossings at Pinebrook Apartments following reports of a robbery.

When officers arrived, they learned that an adult male had been approached and robbed at gunpoint while walking his dog on the property. Investigators say the suspect threatened the victim with a firearm before taking undisclosed belongings. The victim was not physically injured, but the encounter has left residents shaken.

The suspect’s description and direction of travel have not been released, and it remains unclear whether the individual targeted the victim specifically or if it was a crime of opportunity.

Residents in the area expressed concern over the brazen nature of the crime, which occurred during the early evening hours when foot traffic is still common. Incidents like this highlight the vulnerability of everyday routines—even something as simple as walking a pet.
