GRAND BAY, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A serious early-morning crash involving a commercial vehicle and a train has forced the closure of a major roadway in western Mobile County, authorities confirmed Sunday.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the collision occurred at approximately 6:55 a.m. on April 26 along U.S. 90 near the intersection of Alabama 188 in Grand Bay.

Officials say the crash involved two vehicles, including a commercial vehicle, and a train. Details about the sequence of events leading up to the collision have not yet been released, and it remains unclear whether there were any injuries or fatalities.

As a result of the crash, U.S. 90 in the area has been shut down to all traffic. Authorities have not provided an estimated time for when the roadway will reopen, warning that the closure could remain in place for an extended period as crews work the scene.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are currently on-site conducting an active investigation. Officials say they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while emergency responders and investigators remain at the scene.

This is a developing story. Further details will be released as they are confirmed.
