MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport)— A routine traffic stop on Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a woman after officers discovered she was driving a stolen vehicle and allegedly attempting to mislead authorities about her identity.

According to officials, the incident occurred on April 20, 2026, at approximately 4:00 p.m., when officers conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of Sweeneys Lane. During the stop, officers initiated an investigation that quickly revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen earlier this month from the 4000 block of Government Boulevard.

Authorities say the situation escalated when the driver provided a false name in an apparent attempt to avoid identification. Officers were able to determine her true identity as 41-year-old Cassandra Bradford.

Bradford was taken into custody at the scene without further incident and transported to Metro Jail. She is expected to face charges related to possession of a stolen vehicle as well as providing false information to law enforcement.

The case remains under investigation, and officials have not released additional details at this time.
