Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A routine traffic stop escalated into a vehicle pursuit and foot chase Friday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of a Mobile man, according to authorities. On April 10, 2026, at approximately 2:22 p.m., officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop in the area of St. Stephens Road and Wilson Avenue. Police say the driver refused to comply, prompting officers to pursue the vehicle. The pursuit continued through the area before ultimately coming to a stop near St. Stephens Road and Division Street. At that point, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot, leading officers on a brief chase. Authorities identified the suspect as Robert Grayson, Jr., 39. He was apprehended without further incident and taken into custody at the scene. Grayson was subsequently transported to the Mobile Metro Jail. Officials have not released additional details regarding potential charges or the circumstances that led to the initial attempted stop. No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
