PRICHARD, Ala. (BuzzReport) — City leaders and residents came together in Downtown Prichard Saturday evening for a landmark community event aimed at fostering unity, celebration, and family engagement.

Mayor Carletta Davis joined Council President Traci Hale and Councilman Roy Smith in hosting the city’s first-ever “PA Roll Out” event, transforming a section of Wilson Avenue into a lively gathering space for residents of all ages.

The street was temporarily closed to traffic as families filled the area to take part in an afternoon of activities during the Easter weekend. The event featured music, a live DJ, free food, inflatable attractions for children, and a welcoming atmosphere designed to bring the community together.

Organizers described the event as a major success, with strong turnout and enthusiastic participation from both children and adults. Families were seen enjoying games, dancing, and socializing, creating what many attendees called a much-needed opportunity for connection and celebration within the city.

“This was more than just an event—it was about bringing people together and creating positive experiences for our families,” one attendee said.

Public safety remained a priority throughout the event, with members of the Prichard Police Department and Fire Department present on-site. Their presence helped ensure a safe and orderly environment, allowing residents to fully enjoy the festivities.

City leaders expressed appreciation for the departments’ support, as well as for the community’s turnout, which they say reflects a growing sense of pride and engagement in Prichard.

Officials hope the success of the inaugural “PA Roll Out” will pave the way for future events that continue to build stronger relationships between residents and local leadership while promoting a vibrant, family-friendly environment across the city.
