CENTER POINT, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Authorities in Jefferson County have announced multiple arrests following a shooting that left an 18-year-old male injured in Center Point last month.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 5:38 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2026, to the 10 block of Polly Reed Road NE in response to reports of gunfire. When deputies arrived on scene, they located an 18-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Emergency responders with Center Point Fire & Rescue rendered aid at the scene before transporting the victim to UAB Hospital. Officials confirmed the victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

Following an investigation, detectives identified four suspects believed to be connected to the shooting. All four have since been taken into custody and charged with Attempted Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Dwelling, according to investigators.

The suspects have been identified as:

  • Carlos Moore, 16
  • Zaviar Miller, 16
  • Arry Gardner, 18
  • Skyler Burch, 17

Authorities confirmed that all four individuals were booked into the Jefferson County Jail and later released after each posted a bond set at $90,000.

Investigators have not released details regarding a possible motive or the circumstances that led to the shooting. It also remains unclear whether the victim was specifically targeted or if others were inside the residence at the time of the incident.

The case remains under active investigation as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview potential witnesses.

Officials are urging anyone with information related to the shooting to contact the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 205-325-1450 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777. Anonymous tips may be eligible for a reward.

Authorities emphasize that additional charges could be filed as the investigation develops.
