Montgomery, AL (BuzzReport) — A Montgomery woman has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting incident that police say involved gunfire directed into an occupied vehicle.
According to the Montgomery Police Department (MPD), the incident occurred on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 2500 block of Eastern Boulevard. Officers responded to the scene following reports of gunfire and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Authorities identified the suspect as 39-year-old Laquita Gordan. Following the investigation, Gordan was taken into custody and formally charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, a serious felony offense under Alabama law.
Police have not released additional details regarding the events leading up to the shooting, including whether anyone was injured or if the occupants of the vehicle were specifically targeted. Investigators have also not disclosed whether the incident stemmed from a prior dispute or was random in nature.
