Fugitive Wanted on Rape Charge Captured in Lucedale After Multi-Agency Manhunt

George County, MS (BuzzReport) — A 26-year-old fugitive wanted on a rape charge was taken into custody following a coordinated law enforcement operation involving multiple agencies across South Mississippi.

According to the George County Sheriff’s Office, Antron Graham of Moss Point was apprehended on March 21, 2026, after authorities tracked a stolen vehicle he was believed to be driving.

Investigators said the case began when the George County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office regarding a stolen 2003 white Pontiac. The vehicle was allegedly taken by Graham, who had previously evaded the United States Marshals Service on March 19 in Moss Point. At that time, federal agents were attempting to serve a warrant for rape issued by the Moss Point Police Department.

Later on March 21, at approximately 5:00 p.m., authorities received updated information indicating the suspect vehicle had been spotted in the Hurley area. Just over 20 minutes later, at approximately 5:22 p.m., a Lucedale Police Department officer observed the vehicle entering the Walmart parking lot in Lucedale.

Law enforcement quickly converged on the location and established a perimeter around the business. When officers attempted to make contact, Graham fled the scene on foot, prompting a brief pursuit. He was ultimately taken into custody without further incident.

Emergency medical services responded to evaluate Graham at the scene before transporting him to George County Regional Hospital for treatment. He was later released and booked into the George County Regional Correctional Facility.

Authorities confirmed Graham’s outstanding rape warrant through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). A hold has been placed on him for the Moss Point Police Department.

George County Sheriff Mitchell Mixon commended the coordinated effort, emphasizing the importance of interagency cooperation in bringing the suspect into custody.

“This arrest is a direct result of strong communication and teamwork between multiple law enforcement agencies,” Mixon said. “When agencies work together and share critical information, we are able to act quickly and effectively to protect our communities. I am proud of the dedication shown by everyone involved in bringing this dangerous individual into custody safely. This was a job well done.”

The George County Sheriff’s Office credited the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Lucedale Police Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol, and the United States Marshals Service for their assistance.

The investigation remains ongoing. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
