19-Year-Old Killed, Several Others Injured in Early Morning Shooting in Evergreen

Evergreen, AL (BuzzReport) — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in Evergreen that left a 19-year-old man dead and several others injured.

According to the Conecuh County Coroner’s Office, the shooting happened around 12:40 a.m. on March 8 in the 100 block of West Front Street.

Officials say multiple individuals were shot during the incident. One victim, Melvontaie Loveless, 19, of Greenville, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner’s office responded alongside the Evergreen Police Department, the Conecuh County Sheriff’s Office, and the Alabama State Bureau of Investigation.

Authorities say Loveless’ body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences facility in Mobile, where an examination will be conducted.

Investigators have not yet released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or the conditions of the other victims.
