Pedestrian Killed in Early Morning Crash on Old Shell Road

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A man was killed in a traffic accident early Monday morning along Old Shell Road, according to authorities.

On February 23, 2026, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers responded to the area of Old Shell Road and Cosgrove Drive in Mobile in reference to a reported crash.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim deceased at the scene.

Preliminary findings indicate the victim had exited his vehicle, which was stopped in the westbound lane of Old Shell Road with its hazard lights activated. While standing outside of his vehicle, he was struck by another vehicle traveling westbound.

Police say the driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

The investigation remains active, and authorities say no additional details will be released at this time.
