Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A domestic disturbance Sunday evening escalated into a felony arrest after a suspect allegedly attempted to flee police with two children inside his vehicle, authorities said.

On Sunday, February 22, 2026, at approximately 7:20 p.m., officers responded to a reported domestic dispute in the 4100 block of Dickson Lane in Mobile.

According to police, as officers arrived at the scene they observed a vehicle speeding away from the residence. Investigators say the driver turned off the vehicle’s headlights in an apparent attempt to avoid apprehension. Officers initiated a response, and the vehicle was stopped a short distance away without further incident.

During the stop, officers discovered two juvenile children seated in the front seat of the vehicle, raising additional safety concerns.

Through the course of the investigation, authorities determined that the male suspect had gone to the residence and initiated a verbal argument with a female victim, which allegedly escalated into multiple criminal offenses. A detective responded to further investigate the incident.

Police identified the suspect as Damian Law, 32. He was taken into custody and transported to Metro Jail.

Law faces multiple charges, including:

  • Domestic Violence 3rd Degree (Reckless Endangerment x2)
  • Domestic Violence 3rd Degree (Menacing)
  • Domestic Violence 3rd Degree (Harassment)
  • Menacing
  • Reckless Endangerment
  • Attempting to Elude Police (Felony)

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities have not released additional details about the condition of those involved or whether further charges may be filed.
