Brewton, AL (BuzzReport) — An early morning traffic stop in Brewton led to the arrest of a passenger on multiple drug- and weapon-related charges, authorities said.

In the early hours of February 21, 2026, a patrol officer with the Brewton Police Department conducted a traffic stop near Walgreens after observing a vehicle occupied by multiple individuals.

During the stop, officers identified one of the passengers as Shnea Taliaferro, 34. According to police, Taliaferro was found to be in possession of approximately nine grams of methamphetamine.

As a result of the investigation, Taliaferro was taken into custody and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute. Additional charges include Possession of Marijuana in the Second Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Carrying Brass Knuckles.

Authorities did not release further details regarding the traffic stop or whether additional arrests were made. The case remains under investigation.
