Citronelle, AL (BuzzReport) — A Citronelle man is in custody following a shooting late Sunday night that left another man critically injured.

According to the Citronelle Police Department, officers were dispatched to a reported shooting in the 100 block of Woodland Drive at approximately 10:24 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Authorities said the suspect, who was known to the victim, remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. A .22-caliber long rifle was recovered during the investigation.

Police identified the suspect as Mark Lee, 59. Investigators confirmed that Lee is a convicted felon and is legally prohibited from possessing a firearm.

Lee was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and possession of a firearm by a person forbidden to possess one.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where authorities say he remains in critical but stable condition. The investigation is ongoing.
