Enterprise, AL (BuzzReport) — The search for a missing 2-year-old child intensified Wednesday as law enforcement expanded ground operations across multiple locations in Enterprise, focusing on apartment complexes, nearby wooded areas, and storm sewer infrastructure.

Authorities resumed the search for Genesis Nova Reid early in the morning, deploying trained K-9 units to canvass the grounds surrounding Meadowbrook Apartments and Brookdale Apartments along Apache Drive. The two complexes are separated by a dense tree line, which search crews also methodically examined. Investigators were additionally seen inspecting sewer drains in the area as part of a broader effort to follow all potential leads.

Genesis Reid’s mother remains in custody at the Coffee County Jail after a court appearance Tuesday. She is being held on a $1 million cash bond. Authorities have not released further details regarding the charges or the circumstances that led to the bond amount, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.

Tensions surfaced at the search scene as representatives for the apartment complex declined media access to the property. A staff member stationed near the entrance told a local outlet that corporate management had instructed them to prohibit media presence, despite the seriousness of the case involving a missing toddler who lived at the complex.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that the investigation remains active and fluid. “All leads are being pursued,” authorities said, urging the public to remain vigilant and cooperative.

Anyone with information that could assist in locating Genesis Nova Reid is asked to contact the Enterprise Police Department or dial 911 immediately.
