Enterprise, Ala. (BuzzReport) — The search for a missing 2-year-old girl from Enterprise entered its second day Tuesday as authorities publicly identified a woman who may hold critical information about the child’s disappearance. During a morning press conference, Michael Moore, chief of the Enterprise Police Department, said investigators are seeking a woman known as Mariah, who may frequent the Level Plains area and could help shed light on what happened to the missing toddler, Genesis Reid. According to Moore, the child’s mother, Adrienne Reid, mentioned the name Mariah to officers during questioning. Police believe the woman may spend time in Level Plains, possibly at a local bar, and has known ties to Ozark. Authorities described her as a Black female and urged anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact police immediately. Moore also confirmed that Adrienne Reid remains detained by authorities. He emphasized that she has not been charged with any crime and said the decision was made in part to ensure her safety amid the intense and growing public attention surrounding the case. The search for Genesis continues across the Enterprise area, with police requesting that the public stay clear of active search zones. James Tarbox, Coffee County District Attorney, said limiting public access is essential to protecting the integrity of the investigation and ensuring that potential evidence is not compromised. Chief Moore echoed that request, asking sightseers and volunteers to remain away from search areas unless they have been specifically cleared by law enforcement. Investigators say Adrienne Reid reported discovering her daughter missing early Monday morning. She told police that Genesis, who is set to turn three years old next month, was gone from her bed and that a door leading out of the home was found open. Neighbors raised additional concerns, telling authorities they had not seen the child in several weeks. Some residents reported that prior to January, Genesis was frequently seen walking through the neighborhood with her mother. As the investigation continues, Moore expressed gratitude for the outpouring of public cooperation and the assistance of multiple local, state, and regional agencies now involved in the search. Anyone with information related to Genesis Reid’s disappearance or the whereabouts of the woman known as Mariah is urged to contact Enterprise police immediately.
