Woman Killed in Thursday Morning Shooting on Wesley Avenue; Case Referred To DA

Mobile , AL BuzzReport) — A woman is dead following a shooting Thursday morning in the 900 block of Wesley Avenue, according to the Mobile Police Department.

Officers responded to the residence at approximately 9:05 a.m. on February 12, 2026, after receiving reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a female victim inside the home suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by gunfire.

The victim was transported from the scene for medical treatment but succumbed to her injuries a short time later.

Investigators determined that a known male subject had been involved in an altercation with the victim prior to the shooting. The individual has been detained for questioning as part of the investigation.

Authorities confirmed that the criminal investigation has been completed and the case has been turned over to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office for review. No arrests have been made at this time.

The name of the victim will be released once next of kin has been notified.

Police say no additional information is being released at this stage of the case.
