Gardendale, AL (BuzzReport) — The Gardendale Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in an ongoing homicide investigation stemming from a deadly shooting last summer.

According to authorities, on July 3, 2025, officers responded to the 2300 block of Chapelridge Drive in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 19-year-old Jaylon Jarriel Gregory suffering from gunshot wounds.

Gregory was transported for medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators continue to work the case and are urging anyone with information to come forward. Police say even the smallest detail could prove critical in advancing the investigation.

Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama. Tips can be made anonymously, and individuals whose information leads to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000.

Authorities emphasize that all tips will remain confidential as they continue efforts to seek justice in Gregory’s death.
