Search Underway for Missing Monroe County Woman

Monroe County, Ala. (BuzzReport)- Authorities and volunteers are urgently searching for a Monroe County woman who was reported missing this week, prompting a large-scale, coordinated response across the Franklin area.

The Monroe County Rescue Squad was dispatched on January 24 to Franklin, Alabama, off County Road 61, following a report of a missing person. Upon arrival, responders learned that Ms. Ovella Locke had last been seen the previous day and had not been heard from since. Information gathered at the scene indicated she may have been near her residence or possibly at a nearby home further down the road.

A comprehensive search effort was immediately launched. Rescue teams conducted a methodical grid search of the surrounding area while deploying drones to assist from the air. The drone operation covered approximately 350 acres, with footage analyzed using specialized software designed to detect clothing and color patterns consistent with what Ms. Locke may have been wearing.

Several points of interest were identified through the aerial search and were thoroughly examined by ground teams. Despite these efforts, no confirmed sightings or evidence were located.

In addition to aerial support, extensive patrols were carried out using side-by-sides, and ground crews canvassed the area on foot. The Monroe County Rescue Squad worked in close cooperation with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, combining resources and personnel in an effort to locate Ms. Locke as quickly as possible.
