Deputy Deshone Holloway, Sr. Enters 2026 Race for Washington County Sheriff

Chatom, AL (BuzzReport) — Deshone Holloway, Sr. has officially announced his candidacy for Sheriff of Washington County, launching a 2026 campaign grounded in experience, community roots, and a commitment to public service.

Holloway brings a distinguished background in both military and law enforcement service. A United States Navy veteran, he served eight years on active duty, where he says he developed the core values of duty, integrity, and leadership that continue to guide his career.

Following his military service, Holloway graduated from the police academy in Mobile, Alabama, and began what has become an 18-year career with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. During that time, he has risen through the ranks, serving as Deputy, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain, and ultimately Chief Deputy.

“I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for Sheriff of Washington County in the upcoming 2026 elections,” Holloway said. “As a lifelong resident, this community means everything to me. I’ve dedicated my career to protecting it, and I’m ready to lead it forward.”

Holloway emphasized his deep ties to Washington County and his belief in community-focused law enforcement. He noted that his experience at every level of the sheriff’s office has prepared him to address public safety challenges while maintaining transparency and trust with residents.

“With the support of the people of Washington County, I am committed to making our community a safer and better place for everyone,” Holloway added. “Together, we can continue to build a stronger and safer Washington County.”

The Washington County Sheriff’s race is expected to draw increased attention as the 2026 election cycle approaches, with Holloway positioning his campaign around experience, leadership, and service to the community.

The Republican primary will be held on May 19.
