Axis, AL (BuzzReport) — Authorities have identified the man who died following a workplace accident at a steel mill in Axis earlier this week.

According to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Johnny Fabbo Rosario was killed Tuesday, Jan. 20, after falling from the roof of an industrial building at SSAB, a major steel manufacturing facility in the area.

Investigators said Rosario was working as a contractor and was in the process of replacing metal roof panels on one of the mill’s larger buildings when the incident occurred. He reportedly fell from the roof, suffering a fatal head injury.

Emergency responders were called to the scene, but Rosario was pronounced dead as a result of the injuries sustained in the fall.

In a news release, the Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death has been ruled accidental, and no foul play is suspected. The incident remains under review as part of standard workplace safety procedures.

No additional details have been released at this time.
