Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A normally quiet stretch of Orleans Street was jolted by violence Friday night after gunfire struck a residence, prompting a swift response from Mobile police.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched to the 3200 block of Orleans Street at approximately 8:21 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2026, following reports of shots fired. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered that a home in the area had been hit by gunfire. Miraculously, no injuries were reported.

Police secured the area and began canvassing the neighborhood for evidence and potential witnesses. The incident has left residents shaken, many expressing concern over the sudden burst of violence in their community.

“This could have been much worse,” one nearby resident said. “We’re just thankful no one was hurt, but it’s frightening to know bullets hit a home.”

At this time, investigators have not released details about a suspect or motive. Authorities confirmed the case remains an active and ongoing investigation.
