Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A serious multi-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle brought traffic to a standstill along Interstate 10 early Saturday morning, prompting lane closures and an active investigation by state troopers.

The crash occurred at approximately 6 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, near the 41-mile marker in Baldwin County, blocking all eastbound lanes of I-10. Authorities say the collision involved multiple vehicles, including at least one commercial truck, though the extent of injuries has not yet been released.

Wrecker crews remain on scene working to clear damaged vehicles and debris from the roadway. Motorists traveling eastbound are experiencing significant delays as traffic is being diverted while cleanup efforts continue.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division are actively investigating the cause of the crash. Officials say they will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.

Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes and exercise caution in the area as emergency personnel work to reopen the interstate. Further details, including potential injuries and an estimated time for reopening the lanes, have not yet been announced.
