MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Two parents are facing multiple aggravated child abuse charges after three young children were brought to a Mobile hospital suffering from severe medical conditions, including extreme malnutrition and dehydration. Court proceedings revealed that one child was in critical condition, while one of two-month-old twins is reportedly not expected to survive.

Mobile Police Department officers arrested 25-year-old Sara Sprinkle and 30-year-old Gregory Sullivan. Both suspects were charged with three counts of aggravated child abuse, according to the available information.

The disturbing circumstances surrounding the case came to light during a court proceeding Wednesday, when officials revealed the severity of the children’s conditions upon their arrival at the hospital.

According to the information presented in court, one of the children was in critical condition when Sullivan and Sprinkle brought him to the medical facility. The condition of the two-month-old twins was also described as alarming, with officials reporting that both infants were malnourished, dehydrated and emaciated.

The most heartbreaking revelation involved one of the twins, who officials said is not expected to survive.

The allegations have raised serious concerns about the children’s welfare and the circumstances that led to their hospitalization. The investigation centers on the alleged abuse of all three children, with both parents facing separate charges for each child.

Aggravated child abuse is a serious criminal allegation, particularly when the alleged victims are infants and young children who depend entirely on adults for their basic needs, nourishment and protection.

BuzzReport will continue to follow this developing case as more information becomes available.
