Mobile, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 51-year-old Mobile man turned himself in to authorities Sunday night and was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail on two counts of cruelty to animals, according to jail records and a criminal complaint. George Cobb surrendered without incident and was taken into custody in connection with allegations involving two pit bulls, identified as Chopper and Slash. The criminal complaint alleges that between September 23 and September 30 of this year, Cobb kept the dogs on short tethers that significantly restricted their movement. Investigators further allege the animals were kept without access to adequate shelter, were not provided proper sustenance, and did not receive necessary veterinary care during that period. The condition of the dogs at the time of discovery was not detailed in available records, and authorities have not released additional information regarding their current status. Cobb remains charged with two misdemeanor counts of cruelty to animals. The case remains under investigation, and further court proceedings are pending.
