Chickasaw, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 50-year-old Chickasaw man was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail on Christmas Eve on a murder charge following a deadly shooting earlier this week, according to the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office and jail records. Authorities identified the suspect as Boris Cornelius Steele, who is charged in connection with the death of a 39-year-old man. The victim was found Tuesday near the intersection of West Lee Street and Geronimo Street, the sheriff’s office said. Investigators reported that the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Jail records indicate Steele was booked into the Mobile County Metro Jail at 9:32 p.m. Wednesday. No bond information was immediately available. The investigation remains ongoing. Law enforcement officials have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting or whether further charges may be filed.
