Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – Woman found on the scene after reports of breaking and entering vehicle. Ashley Wilkerson, 41, was arrested on Monday after allegedly attempting to break into a vehicle on Oxmoor Drive. The incident unfolded at 10:10 a.m. in the 4700 block, a residential stretch known for its quiet communities and low crime rates.

According to police reports, officers arrived to find Wilkerson still present at the scene, where she was swiftly detained without resistance. The vehicle in question remained unscathed but became the center of a growing local dialogue about auto-related crimes. A detective from the Mobile Metro Police Department later joined responding units to conduct a thorough investigation, though no further details about the suspect’s motives or potential prior connections to the area have been released.

The arrest comes amid reports of a slight uptick in attempted vehicle break-ins over the past three months in northwest Mobile, according to internal department statistics. While no damage occurred in this case, similar incidents in recent weeks have targeted unlocked vehicles, prompting authorities to remind residents to secure their belongings and report suspicious activity.

Wilkerson was transported to Metro Jail and charged with attempted unlawful breaking and entering. Her booking record indicates she posted bond by late afternoon, though no information has been provided about her next court hearing.
