Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Vehicle in Downtown Mobile

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A fatal accident in downtown Mobile has claimed the life of a male pedestrian after he was struck by a vehicle Thursday evening, authorities confirmed. 

The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. on North Broad Street, in the busy corridor near Dauphin and St. Francis Streets. According to Mobile Police, emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene, where they found the victim critically injured. He was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, but later succumbed to his injuries. 

The section of North Broad Street was temporarily blocked off as investigators worked to reconstruct the moments leading up to the collision. The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with officers as part of the ongoing investigation. 

The area where the incident took place is a well-trafficked stretch of the downtown district, known for both its vehicular congestion and heavy pedestrian activity, especially during evening hours. Police have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of his family.
