Fairfield Homicide: 29-Year-Old Male Killed in Apparent Domestic Shooting; Suspect in Custody

Fairfield, AL (BuzzReport)— Early Sunday morning, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a “person down” call at 5051 Parkway in Fairfield. Arriving deputies found a 29‑year‑old male with gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene by Fairfield Fire & Rescue crews.

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute between the victim and a relative. Shots were fired during the altercation, leading to the fatal injury. A 27‑year‑old female, identified as a relative of the victim, was taken into custody at the scene. She has not yet been formally charged, and the investigation remains active.
