ECLECTIC, AL (BuzzReport)– Emergency crews executed a rapid and successful operation late Monday afternoon, clearing a severe two-vehicle head-on collision that completely blocked a vital section of Georgia Road. The coordinated effort ensured the road was reopened to traffic within the hour, minimizing disruption to commuters.

The incident unfolded at 17:29 today when the Eclectic Fire Department (EFD) and the Eclectic Police Department were dispatched to Georgia Road, just north of the Pleasant Hill Road intersection. Responding units arrived to find a severe impact involving two passenger vehicles, with the resulting wreckage and debris completely rendering the thoroughfare impassable.

Prioritizing immediate medical care, responders swiftly engaged with the occupants of both vehicles. Medical personnel transported one patient via EMS 835 to an area hospital for necessary treatment following an on-scene assessment. A second patient received evaluation at the crash location and refused further medical transport, indicating the injuries sustained were non-life-threatening.

The extent of the damage required immediate and comprehensive traffic control measures. Authorities enacted hard closures on Georgia Road at both the West Collins and Pleasant Hill Road intersections to establish a secure work zone. EFD units remained on site after medical operations concluded, dedicating efforts to managing the large field of debris until commercial wreckers successfully removed both damaged vehicles.

Due to the effectiveness of the joint operation and the clear division of cleanup tasks, the affected stretch of Georgia Road returned to normal traffic conditions approximately one hour after the initial dispatch. Local law enforcement expressed appreciation for the community’s patience during the necessary closure period while critical recovery operations were underway.
