FAIRHOPE, AL (BuzzReport)– A Fairhope woman was arrested Saturday on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after she allegedly refused an officer’s request to remove an “obscene” phallic costume during a protest on Greeno Road. The incident unfolded near the Baldwin Square Shopping Center, following initial reports of traffic hazards.

Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of Greeno Road after receiving multiple complaints regarding traffic disruptions attributed to a protest in the area. Upon arrival, an officer observed Jeana Renea Gamble, 61, of Fairhope, conspicuously dressed in a phallic costume.

Authorities deemed the costume to be “obscene in a public setting,” prompting an officer to approach Ms. Gamble and request that she remove the attire. However, Ms. Gamble reportedly refused to comply with the directive.

Following her refusal to cooperate, Ms. Gamble was taken into custody by the officers on scene. She has been formally charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest, both of which are misdemeanor offenses. The protest and subsequent arrest occurred on Saturday.
