MOBILE, AL. (BuzzReport) – A deadly shooting in Mobile has claimed the life of a 24-year-old man, leading to the dramatic arrest of an 18-year-old suspect following a high-speed police pursuit through the city early Monday morning. Authorities have identified the victim as Kamron Killings. The grim discovery was made Monday, September 22, 2025, when officers responded to a death investigation at a home in the 1300 block of E. Linwood Drive at approximately 10:00 a.m. Inside, they found Mr. Killings deceased. Further investigation by Mobile Police Department revealed that Killings had been shot the previous day, Sunday, September 21, 2025. The primary suspect was identified as Jaylin Roberts-Westry, 18, who was reportedly known to the victim. Police determined that Roberts-Westry allegedly shot Killings at the residence before fleeing the scene in the victim’s vehicle. Hours before the victim’s body was discovered, officers’ attention was drawn to a vehicle traveling on McVay Drive with its headlights off, shortly after midnight on Monday. At approximately 12:31 a.m., officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, the driver, later identified as Roberts-Westry, refused to comply. This refusal sparked a police pursuit that ultimately concluded in the 200 block of Government Street. Roberts-Westry was apprehended at the scene and subsequently arrested. He has been transported to Metro Jail, where he is being held in connection with the fatal shooting and vehicle theft. As of now, no further information regarding the specific circumstances surrounding the shooting or the relationship between Killings and Roberts-Westry has been released by authorities. The investigation remains ongoing.
