Repeat Offender Arrested in Mobile Dollar Store Theft, Linked to Multiple Incidents

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)– Mobile police have made an arrest following a string of retail thefts across the city, including the most recent incident at a Dollar General on Three Notch Road. 

Authorities say that on Saturday evening, September 6, at approximately 6:40 p.m., two men entered the Dollar General at 5768 Three Notch Road and left with stolen merchandise. After reviewing surveillance footage and following up on investigative leads, officers identified one of the suspects as 44-year-old Victor Tarrance. 

Tarrance was located and taken into custody on Monday, September 8. He was transported to Metro Jail, where he now faces multiple theft-related charges. 

According to investigators, Tarrance’s arrest is not limited to the Dollar General case. He is also accused of walking out with unpaid merchandise from three separate Circle K locations in August. Police reports show that the incidents took place on August 9, August 14, and August 27—each time at the Circle K on Highway 90. 

Officials say the investigation remains active and that the second suspect in the September 6 incident has not yet been identified. 

Mobile Police Department spokespersons noted that retail crimes like these have ripple effects on both businesses and local communities. “Every theft impacts store employees, customers, and prices. We take these cases seriously, especially when there is a pattern of repeated behavior,” the spokesperson said. 

As for Tarrance, his court date has not yet been set. Investigators are encouraging anyone with knowledge about the second suspect to come forward.
