Biloxi, MS (BuzzReport) – A Sunday morning quickly turned into a high-stakes pursuit through Biloxi after a Moss Point man allegedly threatened to open fire on people and then led officers on a chase. Lashaun Coleman, 25, is now facing significant charges stemming from the early morning incident. According to police, the drama unfolded around 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 31, in the 700 block of Howard Avenue. Authorities reported that Coleman allegedly made threats to shoot at individuals in the area, causing people to flee from a nearby business in fear. Upon arrival, officers confronted Coleman. However, instead of complying, officials said Coleman quickly bolted from the scene, jumping into a white vehicle and taking off. This initiated a high-speed chase that wound its way through Biloxi as officers attempted to apprehend the suspect. The pursuit eventually culminated in Coleman’s arrest. During the arrest, officers also located a firearm inside the vehicle – the same weapon Coleman had allegedly been seen with during the initial threats on Howard Avenue. Coleman has been formally charged with making terroristic threats and failure to stop when an officer signals. Following his arrest, he was booked into the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Justice Court Judge Albert Fountain has set a substantial bond for Coleman. For the charge of making terroristic threats, bond was set at $250,000. An additional $25,000 bond was issued for the charge of failure to stop when an officer signals, bringing Coleman’s total bond to $275,000.
