Greenville, AL (BuzzReport) – Following a closely contested municipal election on August 26th, Kenderius Boggan has officially secured a spot in the runoff election for Greenville City Council District 5. Voters in District 5 will return to the polls on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, to decide the outcome. Boggan, a proud 2017 graduate of Greenville High School, has campaigned on the theme of “Leadership That Listens, Service That Delivers.” He expressed profound gratitude to the residents of District 5 for their enthusiastic support in the initial round of voting. “I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out and voted for me, along with my family, friends, and volunteers who stood by me every step of the way,” Boggan stated. “This campaign has always been about the people of District 5, and I am committed to being a voice that truly represents our community.” The August 26th election saw strong voter engagement across District 5. However, with no candidate achieving a majority of the votes cast, the race now necessitates a runoff to determine the next council representative. Boggan emphasized that the coming weeks will be critical for continuing direct conversations with residents, focusing on their needs, priorities, and shared vision for Greenville’s future. “We are not done yet,” Boggan added, urging continued participation. “On September 23rd, I need every single voter in District 5 to come back out and make their voice heard once again. Together, we can secure a brighter future for our community.” Throughout his campaign, Boggan has consistently highlighted his commitment to transparency, accessibility, and results-driven leadership. His platform includes pledges to focus on enhancing community resources, fostering local business growth, addressing critical infrastructure needs, and ensuring robust representation for District 5 residents at City Hall. The runoff election will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at the LBW Wendell Mitchell Conference Center, located at 750 Greenville Bypass. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., providing ample opportunity for all eligible District 5 voters to cast their ballots.
