Shots Fired Near University Blvd. and Overlook Road Injures Vehicle Passenger; Police Investigate

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A Tuesday evening shooting incident near the intersection of University Boulevard and Overlook Road left a vehicle passenger with a gunshot wound and prompted an active investigation by the Mobile Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired at approximately 6:26 p.m. on Tuesday, August 26, 2025. Upon arrival, authorities located a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, who was identified as a passenger in a vehicle traveling through the area at the time, was transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, his injuries were described as minor and not life-threatening.

Further investigation at the scene revealed that the vehicle in which the victim was a passenger had been struck by gunfire. Additionally, an unoccupied vehicle in the vicinity was also found to have been hit during the incident.

The Mobile Police Department has not yet released any information regarding potential suspects or a motive behind the shooting. This remains an active investigation, and authorities have not announced any arrests as of this report.
