Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – In a historic celebration on Saturday, the Mobile City Council marked the inaugural run of Amtrak’s long-awaited Mardi Gras Service, restoring passenger rail between Mobile and New Orleans after a two-decade hiatus. Photo By: Mobile City Council What to Expect from the Mardi Gras Service The Mardi Gras Service will kick off on August 18, 2025, with two daily round trips connecting Mobile to New Orleans, featuring stops in: Bay St. Louis Gulfport Biloxi Pascagoula The scenic journey will take approximately four hours, offering a convenient travel option for residents and visitors alike. With morning and evening departures from both cities, travelers can plan their trips according to their preferences.
