Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – A devastating fire ripped through a home on Racine Avenue in Mobile, Alabama, early Wednesday morning, claiming the life of a woman in her 60s and her family pet. The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department responded to the blaze just before 7:30 a.m., with firefighters rushing to the scene to rescue those trapped inside. According to Steven Millhouse, spokesman for the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department, firefighters pulled the woman from the burning house and found her unconscious. Despite the efforts of rescue workers who performed CPR, the woman was taken to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. The victim’s name has not been released, pending notification of her family. The woman’s husband was treated for minor burns at the scene, while a firefighter suffered injuries and received treatment at a local burn unit. Unfortunately, the family’s dog also perished in the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by fire investigators, who will work to determine the origin and circumstances surrounding the blaze.
