Moss Point, MS (BuzzReport)- In a decisive move, the Moss Point Board of Aldermen voted on Tuesday, August 5, to suspend Police Chief Brandon Ashley for five days, effective immediately. The suspension comes at the recommendation of the Mayor’s office.

According to a statement released by the City of Moss Point, “At the Mayor’s recommendation, the Moss Point Board of Aldermen voted to suspend the police chief, Brandon Ashley, for five days. It is this administration’s policy to not comment on personnel issues.” This statement confirms the action taken by the Board but leaves the specific reasons for the suspension undisclosed.

Chief Brandon Ashley has been at the helm of the Moss Point Police Department since 2018. During his tenure, he has led various initiatives aimed at improving law enforcement services in the community. In his absence, Sgt. Kim Snowden will take the reins as the acting chief of the Moss Point Police Department, ensuring continuity and stability within the department.
