FORSYTH COUNTY, GA (BuzzReport) – Grammy-nominated rapper GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Woods, was arrested on felony drug charges in Georgia following a police response to a reported burglary at her residence.

Deputies with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to Woods’ home in the St. Marlo Subdivision around 1:30 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. While at the scene, investigators reportedly detected the odor of marijuana.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, three individuals were allegedly in the process of stealing items when they were reportedly shot at by a person inside the home. The suspects fled the scene before law enforcement arrived, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities subsequently obtained a search warrant for the property. During the search, a “significant amount” of marijuana and a Schedule I controlled substance were discovered inside the residence.

Woods herself was not present at the time of the initial incident. She later surrendered to authorities on Tuesday, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. She faces charges of felony possession of marijuana and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance. Woods was released on a bond of $22,260.

The investigation into the burglary remains active. Sheriff Ron Freeman stated, “The homeowner is a victim of a serious crime, and we are committed to bringing the suspects to justice. At the same time, we must continue to uphold and enforce the law in all aspects of this case.”
