MOBILE, Ala. – A Mobile man has been charged with serious felonies after allegedly assaulting a woman and forcing her from his vehicle, an action police say led to her being struck by another car. Derwin Robinson, 37, is currently held at Mobile County Metro Jail following the incident reported to authorities on July 14, 2025. According to the Mobile Police Department (MPD), officers first responded to a local hospital on Monday, July 14, 2025, where the victim was receiving medical attention for her injuries. Following their initial contact with the victim, investigators proceeded to the intersection of Spring Hill Avenue and Union Avenue, the reported location of the domestic incident. Robinson allegedly physically assaulted the woman, whom he knew, before forcibly removing her from his vehicle. Police stated that Robinson’s actions after forcing her out of the vehicle “caused her to be run over by another vehicle,” leading to her significant injuries. Robinson faces charges of Assault in the First Degree and Domestic Violence-Strangulation or Suffocation, both serious felony offenses. He remains in custody at the Mobile County Metro Jail. The case remains under investigation by the Mobile Police Department.
